Dylan Blaha Speaks Out On US Attacks on Iran
CHAMPAIGN, IL - Dylan Blaha, an Afghan War veteran and National Guard Captain running for United States Congress, condemned Donald Trump’s decision to bomb three Iranian nuclear facilities on Saturday.
Blaha believes the US violated multiple international laws, including Article 51 of the United Nations Charter and the Geneva Conventions.
“Americans do not want this war – just look at any YouGov poll. The U.S. does not need to enter a war. We need to feed our hungry and clothe our poor,” said Dylan Blaha.
“I disagree with the mainstream media’s narrative that Iran is a threat. This resembles what happened before the Iraq invasion in 2003. There were inflammatory claims of nuclear weapons from Benjamin Netanyahu. Right now, we only know that Iran has enriched uranium to 60%, which is allowed under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Meanwhile, Israel, who never signed the NPT, possesses at least 75 to 400 unreported nuclear weapons,” said Blaha.
Blaha also highlighted the Director of National Intelligence’s testimony in March. Tulsi Gabbard told Congress that the Intelligence Community possessed no new evidence of Iranian nuclear weapons. Iran suspended their nuclear weapons development program in 2003, shortly following the United States’ invasion of Iraq.
“Many Democrats released statements about how it was unconstitutional for the President to attack Iran without congressional approval, but we know they would have given it. When it comes to foreign policy, especially Israel, most Democrats and Republicans are warmongers. It’s past time to elect leaders who stop sending our Soldiers to fight in senseless wars.”
