Illinois is facing a housing shortage, from Chicago and its suburbs to cities like Rockford and college towns like Champaign-Urbana and Bloomington-Normal.

Abundant Housing Illinois is a 501(c)(4) chapter of YIMBY Action that, along with its sister chapters CUrbanism in Champaign-Urbana and Rockford Area YIMBY, advocates for abundant housing and sustainable, inclusive cities throughout Illinois.

The housing shortage and affordability crisis are a political choice, and our governments - federal, state, and local - have the ability to change the status quo and ensure that everyone has a roof over their heads. Abundant Housing Illinois and its sister chapters endorse pro-housing candidates who are dedicated to ending the housing shortage.

Beyond the Ballot was founded in 2024 by a group of Gen Z organizers who grew frustrated with false narratives in left-leaning messaging, and a political environment that too often fails to center the needs of state and local priorities. Our mission here is clear and concise: we are organizing, engaging, and empowering young community leaders to build political power from the bottom up while educating communities on how to leverage their power to deliver bold progressive policies. We were founded on the principles that our approach to organizing and advocacy should be focused on long-term movement building, and never on performative action or convenient political posturing.  

AIPAC PAC is the group’s political action committee used to raise funds and directly contribute to candidates who align with their pro-Israel agenda.

In short, AIPAC focuses on lobbying and advocacy, while AIPAC PAC focuses on direct financial support for political candidates.

Our focus is on uplifting the Latino and working-class communities in Cook County, ensuring that their interests are at the forefront of our efforts. We recognize the unique challenges and aspirations that these groups face, and we pledge to address them with sincerity and determination. We are not here to make empty promises or engage in political rhetoric; our mission is to take tangible action and fight for the rights and needs of our community. Together, we will work tirelessly to create meaningful change that improves the quality of life for all residents and fosters a sense of belonging and empowerment among those we serve.

Downstate Forward is dedicated to fostering a thriving political environment in central Illinois. We seek to amplify progressive voices and support candidates shaping transparent, accountable, and representative local government.

Peace Action works for smarter approaches to global problems. If we want to address problems like war, the nuclear threat, poverty, climate change, and terrorism – the U.S. needs to work together, cooperatively, with other nations. We also need to overcome the partisan politics and divisive rhetoric that often drown out alternatives to war. By getting people and communities around the country involved, we build the political will needed to break through that deadlock. Our success comes from empowering people to engage in foreign policy issues like no other organization.

Mission Statement: Progressive Democrats of America

Progressive Democrats of America was founded in 2004 to transform the Democratic Party and our country. We seek to build a party and government controlled by citizens, not corporate elites-with policies that serve the broad public interest, not just private interests.

As a grassroots organization operating inside the Democratic Party, and outside in movements for peace and justice, PDA has played a key role in the rise of the progressive movement. Our inside/outside strategy is guided by the belief that a lasting majority will require a revitalized Democratic Party built on firm progressive principles.

For many decades, the Democratic Party declined as its leadership listened more to the voices of corporations and the donor class than those of average Americans. PDA strives to rebuild the Democratic Party from the bottom up – from every congressional district to statewide party structures to the corridors of power in Washington, where we cooperate with the Congressional Progressive Caucus.

In its short history, PDA has succeeded in shaking up the political status-quo with its stated opposition to the Iraq war and to excessive military budgets; advocacy for universal single-payer healthcare, racial and economic justice; fighting environmental racism and the climate emergency; support for voter rights and the Equal Rights Amendment; and, notably, being the first national organization to ask Bernie Sanders to run for Pre

Southern Illinois People for Progress (SIPP) exists to support and further the interest of the people of Southern Illinois in participating in government; and shaping progressive governmental and community practices and policies. SIPP champions legislation that strengthens human and civil rights, healthcare protections, economic justice, and environmental safeguards.

Through our work at community, state and national levels, we take effective action that will create a more socially just, united and equitable 21st century state and nation.

Founded in 2023, The Justice Coalition Action (TJCA) was born out of the U.S.-funded genocide in Gaza — and the urgent need to confront zionist influence in U.S. politics. We educate, advocate, and act to build long-term political power that can win justice for Palestinians and all colonized people.

We are a non-partisan, community-led political force uniting across racial and religious identities to reshape U.S. policy through the lens of justice and dignity.

The Politician's Creed (TPC) 

Setting an Expectation of Accountability and Trust in Public Office

The Politician’s Creed is a public oath — a commitment by a candidate or elected official to uphold the relationship that must exist between a politician and their constituents in order to sustain a functioning democratic republic.

Drawn directly from the spirit of America's Founding Documents, TPC fills a void:  none of the 50 United States requires its legislators to swear an oath to act directly in the best interests of their constituents.

This void has given rise to a political class too often loyal to party, donors, or ideology over the public good.

TPC is a declaration of allegiance to each candidate's constituents.  It holds that public office is not a platform for self-interest, but a responsibility to protect, empower, and remain accountable to those you serve.

We are a fast-growing group of Jews in Urbana-Champaign, Illinois from a diverse set of backgrounds and politics who act together under a shared Jewish moral imperative that all life is precious and that we must act to protect innocent Palestinian lives.

We collectively demand an immediate end to the unspeakable slaughter and for peaceful diplomacy to prevail. As Jews, we refuse to allow these war crimes to be committed in our name.
